W2110X is the high yield black, sold as HP 206X, for the Color LaserJet Pro M255dw and the MFP M283fdw. It is the same cartridge as the W2110A with more toner in it, and on these printers it is the one clear win in the range.
3150 rated pages for $130.00 works out at 4.13c a page against 5.56c on the standard size, so about 26 percent comes off every black page for a step of $55.00 at the till. Since a colour laser in an office spends most of its life printing black text, this is where the money actually is. The three colours can stay standard until your own usage says otherwise.
Check the number on the box against the number on the toner already in the machine. This printer takes 206X in some regions and 207X in others, and HP cautions in its own replacement documentation that cartridges are for distribution and use within their designated region only and will not work outside it. A cheap cartridge sourced from another market can be genuine HP and still be rejected, and the panel message looks the same as a firmware block.
HP's data sheet for this model also carries the dynamic security notice: a compatible W2110X can be refused after an update the printer fetches on its own. If you plan to run third party toner, set firmware updates to do not check before the first cartridge goes in, and prefer remanufactured cartridges built on reused original HP chips.
