About MyCartridgeFinder
MyCartridgeFinder is an independent database built around one question: which ink or toner cartridge does your printer actually use, and what's the cheapest reliable way to buy it?
For every printer we list the exact OEM cartridge numbers, the standard and XL (high-yield) options with their cost per page, reliable compatible and remanufactured alternatives, and whether the printer uses firmware DRM that can block non-OEM ink. That last one matters most.
Where our data comes from
We cross-check every match against the manufacturer cartridge finders (HP, Brother, Canon, Epson) and the major retailer cross-reference tables. We don't publish a cartridge-to-printer match we haven't verified, because one wrong number defeats the whole point of a compatibility database.
The firmware-DRM flag
Some printers can receive firmware updates that block third-party ink. The main culprit is HP's "Dynamic Security." Where that risk exists we flag it, so you can choose between a guaranteed OEM cartridge and a cheaper third-party one with your eyes open.
How we stay free
When you buy through a link on this site we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. That funding keeps the database maintained, and it never changes which cartridge we tell you is correct.
Prices and stock shown are indicative and change frequently; always confirm the current price on the retailer's page before buying.
